Job Summary:
A fantastic sales opportunity within an ambitious, independent Fire & Security business.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by creating, capturing and monitoring sales enquiries within the Electrical Installations Division. This role involves identifying new & existing clients, understanding their needs, and providing bespoke solutions that ensure the safety and security of their facilities. The consultant will work closely with the Projects delivery teams and contractors to deliver exceptional service and achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Create, identify, capture & monitor new and existing business opportunities in the fire and security sector.
New sales, upselling & cross-selling across the Fire & Security portfolio to maximise business presence within your area of operation.
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through various channels, including networking, cold calling, site surveys, client meetings and attending industry events.
Remain updated on industry standards, competitor activities, and potential customer needs.
Sales Execution:
Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals to prospective clients.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing to close sales effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project implementation and customer satisfaction.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients.
Provide ongoing support and account management to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Product Knowledge:
Knowledge of Fire & Security system products, protocols & standards is required
Technical product and/or solution sales to satisfy clients' needs and to help clients' make informed decisions.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and contract details using CRM software.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of field sales experience preferably in the fire and security industry or a related field. Strong B2B candidates with proven track record in sales from outside the sector may be considered
Skills:
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to understand technical products and convey their benefits to customers.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Working Conditions:
Primarily field-based with occasional visits to the head office in Derby
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
