Job Description

GreenBuild is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the next phase of growth for our Horsham office. This strategic, high-responsibility role is designed for a construction professional with at least 5 years of proven industry experience, ideally someone who has owned a building company or held a director/partner position.

This is not a conventional sales role. Our approach to securing projects is relationship-driven and highly bespoke, requiring a professional who can build trust, cultivate high-value opportunities, and manage projects from initial enquiry through to pre-construction and contract signing.

Key Responsibilities:



Business Development:



Identify, nurture, and secure opportunities within the high-end residential and commercial markets. Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with architects, construction managers, and prospective clients to secure projects ranging from 600k-2m. Strategically position the company in the market, enhancing reputation and visibility within the premium refurbishment & construction sector. Expand the business into new markets and sectors.

Administrative Leadership:



Professionally manage incoming leads, correspondence, and client enquiries. Prepare, review, and manage Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and proposals, supporting pre-construction and project initiation. Co-ordinate internal workflows to ensure efficient operations and seamless client communications. Manage your own schedule, including site visits and meetings across London and the South.

Essential Skills and Experience:



Construction Expertise: Proven experience in securing leads, with a deep understanding of pre-construction and contract requirements. Organisational Ability: Highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail. Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication, including professional phone etiquette. Technical Competence: Strong proficiency in Google drive, Email, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

Desirable Attributes:



Established network of industry contacts via LinkedIn or other professional channels. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for growth beyond current operations.
