Business Development Manager

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join our team and support the commercial success of a strategic collaboration. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Client Director to drive new business growth, enable sales teams, and ensure the consistent conversion of qualified opportunities into sales. You will provide hands-on support across all sales territories, assisting in meeting customer demand and achieving new business targets across various customer segments. If you are passionate about fostering relationships and driving sales success, we invite you to apply and be part of our dynamic team.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:

Serve as the primary New Business contact for external sales teams across various territories, ensuring they have the necessary tools, knowledge, and training to sell effectively. Deliver onboarding, product, and sales process training to enhance capability and consistency across portfolio markets. Actively support the conversion of pipeline opportunities into closed sales through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Work with the external distribution teams to develop proposals, respond to client needs, and provide pre-sales support. Track and report on pipeline performance and conversion metrics to monitor success. Tailor support to local market conditions and align efforts with segment-specific needs, including individual, SME, and corporate client profiles. Collaborate with internal teams to prioritise efforts across high-potential markets and segments. Ensure smooth handover from sale to onboarding and ongoing client management while providing feedback on needs, market dynamics, and product performance for continuous improvement.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.

What you'll bring:

Experience in sales support, business development, or partner enablement within Global Health insurance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse markets and cultures. Proven ability to support and influence sales outcomes through training, tools, and engagement. Commercially minded, with a focus on results, performance tracking, and sales process optimisation. Experience working with partners, brokers, or distributors in emerging markets. Familiarity with international sales or distribution models. Comfortable working in cross-functional and remote teams; experience using CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and pipeline reporting systems.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
