WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and challenge-seeking Business Development Manager, based in London/South East area, to join our field-based Sales team who will be responsible for driving business growth through identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and implementing strategic sales plans.
It's vitally important you have proven experience with the roads and transportation & specification sectors with high exposure to local government, contracting and OEM engineers within the London/South-East areas, with a technical bias.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE DOES REQUIRE TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE UK.
You will be travelling the various regions to meet customers and prospective clients, making some visits to our Chesterfield Manufacturing site, therefore a clean and current driving licence is essential.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Focussing efforts on our key product revenue streams, including (but not limited to) Lighting and Sign Structures and Accessories, including steel, composite, aluminium, thermoplastic across sectors of Roads & Infrastructure, Rail, Health, Ports and Architectural.
Identify new business opportunities, building relationships, analysing their needs & developing proposals to match and deliver these needs.
Create & progress strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
Create sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them.
Develop strong, ongoing understanding of market trends, competitor activity and our position within the market.
Collaborating with R&D and commercial teams to ensure we capture all technical requirements.
Attend national trade shows, conferences, event functions, as necessary.
Creation and delivery of written or presentational material, attending bid presentations as appropriate.
To support the tender process to ensure bids are competitive and in line with expectations.
Support the design, development & implementation of marketing & PR campaigns to promote the brand to influence behaviours and secure future opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS;
Proven 5 years + Sales experience, preferably within a Street Furnishing or Rail Traffic Safety systems Industry
Full, clean, current, UK Driving Licence
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of business and sales growth technique
Relationship management, both internally and externally, with the ability to negotiate
Understanding of Market Dynamics and Competitive Landscape
