Bayley Security Ltd is a reputable and established security systems installer operating across the North East. The company is pursuing strategic growth in fire and security systems and seeks an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to drive this vision forward.
This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the organisation's market position and driving commercial success by establishing long-term objectives, cultivating key client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to expanding core areas of the business through proactive engagement with prospects and the generation of new opportunities across various commercial, industrial and public sector clients.
Additionally, this role will support efforts to improve the organisation's market standing and help it achieve financial growth by building and maintaining important customer relationships, negotiating and securing business, staying informed about current market conditions, and managing existing clients to ensure their continued satisfaction and loyalty.
The role will require the candidate to:
Identify and develop new business opportunities with end users, estates and facilities management providers.
Identify and contact new opportunities to expand client base.
Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and sector clients.
Conduct site assessments and prepare accurate and convincing proposals.
Manage the sales cycle from initial quotation to final closure, consistently achieving agreed objectives.
Prepare quotations and respond to inbound enquiries promptly and effectively.
Produce clear, professional quotations using company-approved tools and templates.
Ensure systems are updated regularly and provide comprehensive sales performance reports.
Track and address all assigned sales leads efficiently.
Maintain precise forecasts, prospect databases, quotation records, and sales status reports.
Cultivate strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Perform sales functions as assigned by management.
Achieve set monthly and quarterly sales objectives.
Monitor outstanding quotations to ensure target achievement.
Accurately prepare and present contracts to clients.
Attend all required meetings, appointments, and training sessions.
The role will require a candidate that:
Has proven security systems and/or fire detection sales experience.
Possess a technical, solution driven sales background.
Maintains a consultative sales approach and therefore a knowledge and understanding of security or fire detection/protection systems.
Is PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft products and confident to exploit software systems to support role.
UK Driving License.
Comprehensive knowledge of Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS).
Be articulate and literate, with excellent communication and listening skills.
Is self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
Will be customer focused and a results driven achiever with enthusiasm and commitment.

Able to analyse situations and make decisions accordingly.
Good organisational and time management skills, plus attention to detail.

Proven experience in fire and security sales or a related technical role
Strong knowledge of security and fire detection systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Efficient and proficient in IT.
A high level of integrity and attention to detail.

Salary: 50k-70k depending on experience
