After five years of steady growth, without major changes, SLS are now aligning their global front-end 'Sales and Service' organisation to respond to increased customer demand and to sustain future growth within all three markets: Commercial Marine, Navy and Industrial. With a core strategy to increase market share in Newbuild and to maximise Lifecycle growth, SLS have ambitious business targets for the coming years, with a long-range plan that forecasts organic growth in Sales from EUR 200M to EUR 350M by 2030.



As a part of this exciting transformation, we are looking for

a Manager, OEM Business Development

.



In this newly established position, you will become part of the global SLS Sales & Service organisation and the Business Development & OEM team.



The purpose of the Business Development & OEM team is to ensure business growth and continuous improvement across our global functions. The team will have responsibility for partnership management, business case management, sales agreement and our OEM accounts (internal & external). The team would also be responsible for the development of quality and the planning & execution of technical training for both Sales & Service.



As a Business Development Manager, OEM, you will act as the key interface to uncovering needs of SLS commercial marine OEM customers, exploring business models and opportunities to leverage synergies with OEM customers globally.

In this position you will be reporting to General Manager, Business Development & OEM and you will be located preferably in one of the existing Wartsila locations globally.

What you will be doing:

Explore and analyse all business opportunities with all global OEM customers, e.g. ways-of-working, tailored offerings, identify opportunities, and make proposals on how to profitably grow the business and/or mitigate risks. Develop & implement new business models, strategy and customer plans to grow our OEM business. Develop business KPIs (Sales & Service levels) and report on OEM business performance and market trends and risks. Act as a conduit between customers and SLS Sites to develop tailor made solutions. Lead and manage a team dedicated to supporting OEM customers, including Sales/Account Managers, and a dedicated Sales Support team. Build and maintain a relationship of a true partner to our OEM customers. Develop customer benefit models and agreements that help to increase collaboration and ultimately, market share and profitability between OEM customers and SLS. Gather feedback from OEM customers and share that with those concerned with the SLS business.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

Business / Technical degree or equivalent qualifications as a combination of education and experience Experience from working in the Marine Industry Knowledge and understanding of SLS and Propulsion portfolio Excitement and resilience to build and sustain a new way of working, both internally as well as with customers Customer and business orientation with a solid aspiration to deliver value to customer Strong capability to build trusting relationships and collaboration, also across cultures and borders Ability to successfully lead and influence people in a matrix environment Track record of working in the customer frontline Strong analytical skills and capability to identify patterns in vast amounts of data Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial Excellent communication skills A safety-first mind-set Willing and able to travel

In this role, your success will be measured by:

OEM business growth and KPIs including (OI, Sales, Margin) OEM Service level KPIs (eg. Response times) Execution of strategic plans and critical action
