A rental business development manager is responsible for growing a rental company's business by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, building relationships with customers, and driving revenue growth. They focus on both identifying new markets and retaining existing clients, often involved in creating sales plans, forecasting, and managing contracts.
MAIN DUTIES - BUSINESS DEVLOPMENT MANAGER
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Use your existing portfolio of client contacts whilst developing further client relationships to achieve the following;
To win new business and develop opportunities for the company.
To seek and achieve Approved Supplier status with target Organisations.
To work closely with the Directors and Fleet Manager to drive strategy through initiatives, and implement appropriate measures to ensure sales objectives are being achieved.
To maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of our products and services
To seek and maintain knowledge of opportunities and expand the network of potential clients/ customers
Collaborate with the Operations team to generate appropriate leads and enquiries in order to sell all available capacity to the travel trade, educational establishments, sporting & commercial organisations, etc.
Continuously research and remain knowledgeable of industry trends and competition.
Continuously reviewing and improving profitability and efficiencies on existing clients
To assist in commercial pricing and tenders in partnership with the Director.
Experience
Proven experience in a business development or sales role, preferably within a related industry.
Strong understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical skills.
A degree in Business Administration or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
To complete all reporting schedules as per the company required format in good time and to always accurately represent the current progress on each account.
Ensure that all activity is accurately recorded.
To attend company sales events, client visits and meetings as required.
