Responsibilities
To maximise the profitable sale of finance credit insurance and extended warranties to a minimum of published manufacturers penetration levels and develop and maintain close contact with suppliers to maximise the profit to the division and provide and effective service to customers.
To develop management skills to successfully manage the Sales team in the absence of the Sales Manager to include full responsibility for internal external and Group reporting the running and security of the dealership.
To be fully conversant with all Sales Department procedures relating to HSO/ISO 9002.
To ensure that you meet and maintain the required standard as dictated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for selling recommending or dispensing advice relating to general insurance products or services offered to our customers.
To ensure budgets and sales objectives are met by support to direct selling staff.
To seek greater margins from present or alternative finance sources or insurers.
Assess potential sales of finance warranties and insurance and calculate and agree targets for both.
Revenue and associated costs for inclusion in the budget and three-year plan including the demonstrator and wholesale stocking interest rates and any volume bonuses which may apply.
Provide alternative sources of finance if the manufacturer's finance house is unable to fulfil the need.
To ensure that Sales Executives are fully aware of all finance facilities available which may help close a sale.
To ensure function costs do not exceed budget.
To ensure that dealership receives the budgeted percentage profit on each transaction.
Develop and maintain procedures for the control of referrals and completion of proposals and install systems to report on a weekly and monthly basis the level of achievement of target sales and profit including the calculation of commissions due to Sales personnel.
To ensure the clerical operations within the function are completed accurately and properly.
To ensure all documentation quotes etc are prepared / returned on time.
To establish and maintain an easily checked flow of documentation.
To complete all internal weekly/monthly reports or returns promptly.
Maximise the number of credit insurance sales to finance customers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of car finance insurance and warranty sales by completing the monitoring system as agreed with the Sales Manager.
With the finance company Account Manager and dealer management review performance regularly and set out an action plan for further development.
To maintain daily contact with Sales Manager.
To ensure any market changes are immediately communicated to Sales Manager
To establish and maintain and easily checked flow of documentation.
To ensure that no penalties or delays are incurred by incorrect or late return of documentation.
To complete all internal weekly/monthly reports or returns promptly.
Handle all customer queries and complaints and ensure they are resolved to achieve customer and company requirements.
Develop and maintain a full knowledge of all products accessories prices and key features of major competitors.
Assist with the training and motivation of the team conducting training as appropriate to ensure that the conversion of referrals will be maximised.
To undertake and successfully complete the required initial FCA training and assessment within your first 30 days of employment and to complete on-going training and assessments as required to maintain competence levels in accordance with company policy and FCA standards.
To assist the General Sales Manager in supervising the completion of all FCA accreditation training and assessment in relation to the selling of general insurance products and services within the dealership.
