As part of a restructuring of the business to adapt to changing trading conditions and a refreshed product roadmap, TSL is looking to recruit a Business Operations Executive to support the procurement and sales operations needs of the Marlow, UK operation.


Working with the UK Operations Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for all MRP driven procurement and wider office buying needs while reporting to and assisting the AVP of Sales Operations with sales administration tasks to support all areas of the business contributing to purchasing and sales KPIs, objectives and wider business goals. The Business Operations Executive will be responsible for supporting the management of suppliers, for the complete outbound PO process and for such sales operations tasks as are required from time to time to support sales.

With facilities in Marlow, UK and Northridge California it is well placed to serve the main geographical markets.

Purchasing Operations

(40-60% of time)



Responsible for RFQ, sample requests and obtaining technical details and certifications from suppliers. Close liaison with the Operations Manager and Sales Team to ensure purchasing is done effectively and efficiently to meet agreed lead-times and minimum stocking requirements. Raising POs within Syspro ERP/MRP including processing PRs from other team members. Review supplier acknowledgements, update delivery dates and minimise pricing errors. Identify and progress overdue orders and liaise with Operations and Sales to minimise the impact of any late deliveries. Negotiate 'push-outs' and scheduled orders with suppliers in line with Customer re-schedules Build and manage strong commercial relationships with suppliers - resolve day-to-day issues and identify opportunities for continuous performance improvement in the supply chain. Support resolution of all non-conformance and end of life issues. Purchasing of miscellaneous products and services to support the wider business and the Marlow office. Support maintenance of part number price, lead times, alternatives, MOQs/MOVs within MRP and make available up to date reliable information to all users. Drive cost reductions, albeit while ensuring a focus on optimum stock management and not just price alone.

Sales Operations

(40-60% of time)



Sales order processing from receipt of customer PO to collection or delivery of goods & services. Regular review of backlog product sales & services orders with production and support teams to ensure correct prioritisation and updated delivery timescales. Ensuring customers' expectations are managed, communication is maintained and invoices are raised in a timely manner. Liaising with production, goods out and shipping agents to ensure correct invoicing, shipping arrangements, collections, documentation etc is created and issued in a timely manner. Dealing with commercial invoices, export/import documentation, tax certificates and other requirements for TSL's global shipments. Liaising with colleague in TSL's Northridge, California office for all inter-company orders and shipments. Credit control, including the collection, recording and management of advance deposits and stage payments. Supporting Sales Team with quote requests and ongoing CRM data maintenance

Key Skills/Attributes




Required

Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management and/or sales operations above entry level. Degree level education or company/industry relevant technical qualifications o Commercial acumen - e.g. an understanding of COGS, Gross Margin and FX o Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, well organised, PC literate. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a cross-functional team. Excellent communicator - including by telephone as the default primary method of communication, well presented, able to communicate to all levels in an organisation and clearly articulate complex ideas. Takes ownership, flexible approach, and willingness to undertake ad hoc duties as required. Positive attitude and outlook and a selfless team player. CRM experience


Advantageous

International shipping and logistics and customs experience (Tariffs, Chamber of Commerce documentation, compliance and country of origin certifications etc). A purchasing and/or supply chain qualification (CIPS / CPSM etc). Experience of international supply chains and outsourcing/offshoring. * MRP experience
