Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Administrator within our School Attendance, Exclusions and Community Education Team in Bury.


Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week.


There is an opportunity following training for this to be a hybrid working position and you will be required to spend at least three days in the office.

About the role



Issuing Penalty Notices and Notices to Improve Issuing letters in the form of late reminders and prosecution letters Preparing court files Maintaining spreadsheets Liaising closely with schools Monitoring and receiving payments Dealing with queries from parents over the telephone Inbox management Management of a range of internal IT systems and databases

About you:




You will be experienced in undertaking a range of business support tasks and confident in using technology.


Your attention to detail will be necessary for quality checking of information as well as ensuring the service is GDPR compliant. You should have previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise on a daily basis and be able to follow procedures and policies.


You will be organised and able to work under pressure to complete tasks to potentially conflicting deadlines, without direct line management.


You will have the ability to produce work to required standards with little close supervision and be able to solve straightforward issues using your own initiative.


You will be experienced in using computer packages and be confident in quickly being able to use bespoke software used within different services.


Excellent communications skills will be required, together with high levels of customer service skills to deliver polite, courteous and efficient service to colleagues, partners and service users.
