We're looking for a professional, organised, and friendly Hwb Officer to join our Planning team. You'll be the first point of contact for members of the public, councillors, and internal teams--helping resolve queries efficiently and providing outstanding customer support.
This role is vital in ensuring the Planning department delivers a helpful and accessible service.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a friendly first point of contact for public enquiries, complaints, and service information
Resolve around 80% of issues at the first point of contact via email, phone, or in person
Provide support with online forms and advice on planning-related matters
Log and manage enquiries using Council systems
Coordinate with other departments to deliver excellent service
Carry out general administrative duties and update online content
Working Arrangements
Full-time, 37 hours/week
Office-based during training
Hybrid working after training (2-3 days/week in office)
What You'll Need
Essential:
GCSE-level education or equivalent
Strong communication skills in both English and Welsh (spoken and written) -- or willingness to learn Welsh
Experience in a customer-facing role (in-person or phone-based)
Confident using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, organised, and able to prioritise tasks under pressure
Desirable:
Customer service qualification or formal training
Experience working in a busy, high-demand environment
Great attention to detail and accuracy
