We are now hiring for a part time Business Support Assistant at Copse Court, opposite Thorpe Wood Police Station, in Peterborough to support operational policing by delivering professional, high quality administrative support for a variety of procedures, and processes, and assist with delivering timely and accurate information.

What does the

Business Support Administrator

role involve?




You will be working within a small team, within the wider team Business Support function. This role will be part time, 32 hours per week. The role will be based at our Copse Court Station, opposite Thorpe Wood Police Station, in Peterborough with the occasional requirement to travel to other sites. You will be required to attend the workplace and there is no ability for home working due to the nature of the role. Every day is different whatever your role in policing, so here's an overview of your day-to-day responsibilities:



Provide a broad range of administrative support to allow local policing within Cambridgeshire Constabulary to operate effectively and efficiently. To source and purchase goods and services utilising the departmental e-procurement processes, ensuring that any spend is committed in compliance with Constabulary financial instructions. Management of both Officer personal issue equipment (radios, PAVA, Lockers etc), and vehicle equipment (breathalysers, road signs etc) and associated administration of records relating to these processes. This to ensure that Officers are able to effectively and efficiently deploy for duties. Health and Safety administration, i.e. provision of First Aid equipment, PPE, testing kits etc. to ensure compliance with BCH Health and Safety policies. Assist with facility upgrades as required, in line with the SLA in place with Estates to ensure effective and appropriate use of estate.

GCSE or equivalent (minimum grade C) in English Language and Maths. Administration experience in an office environment. Have experience of working with Microsoft Office and M365 Have the ability to effectively prioritise workload and work independently, with attention to detail whilst working under pressure and at pace. Have an ability to work effectively with other department team members and to build effective working relationships at all levels. Have great attention to detail Be proactive and use your initiative
