Business Support Manager

who is reliable, well-organised, and confident in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy business.

This is a varied and hands-on role that requires close work with the CEO and other senior leaders. You'll need to be focused, detail-oriented, and ready to support a wide range of business functions, including covering for departments when needed. You'll be trusted with confidential information, expected to stay on top of key tasks, and bring calm structure to busy and fast-paced days.

Key Responsibilities



Executive & Administrative Support



Support the CEO directly with day-to-day priorities and discreet handling of sensitive matters. Place essential orders, bookings, and manage logistics on behalf of the CEO. Draft reports, professional documents, and updates for both internal and external use. Keep oversight on key matters and ensure important issues are raised clearly and promptly.

Operational Support



Conduct regular rota checks across care homes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and staffing efficiency. Assist with rolling out systems, procedures, and processes across departments. Perform regular audits on HR, payroll, and rota systems using established templates. Step in during gaps or absences to support departments such as HR, payroll, accounts, recruitment, or facilities management.

Project & Coordination Work



Help drive key projects forward, ensuring milestones and follow-ups are completed. Coordinate with suppliers, agencies, and internal teams to keep things running smoothly. Support recruitment efforts including drafting adverts, scheduling interviews, and onboarding tasks.

Procurement & Records Management



Handle ordering and procurement for the business and care homes. Manage travel and logistical arrangements. Maintain well-organised, compliant digital filing systems, especially through

SharePoint

and other shared platforms.

Communication & Problem Solving



Act as a link between the CEO, directors, regional managers, and other departments. Resolve issues with a calm, practical mindset, using initiative where needed. Ensure clear communication and accurate follow-up on business matters.

Consistency & Adaptability



Stay flexible to take on different responsibilities as needed while keeping a calm, structured approach. Support continuity across the business during busy periods or transitions. Work to a high standard, with attention to detail and strong organisational habits.

Skills & Experience Required



Experience in business support, operations, or high-level administration. Strong communication skills -- professional, clear, and to the point. Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and

SharePoint

. High attention to detail, especially with auditing, compliance, and rota-related tasks. Strong time management and the ability to prioritise across multiple streams of work. Comfortable working independently, while being highly responsive and communicative with leadership. Experience in HR, recruitment, accounts, or operational admin is a plus.
