Business Support Officer Level 1

The role is responsible for providing support to the Health Services, including the Consultant Paediatricians plus the Multidisciplinary Team. Aspects of this role require specialist transcription typing skills including reports, letters and other correspondence which needs to be completed within set deadlines.

About the role

The role is hybrid, with an expectation that you operate mainly from the office, with the occasional mix of working from home, depending on work requirements. You will be working closely with other Business Support Officers and as part of a team, so it will be important for you to form strong working relationships to ensure that you are able to meet the statutory deadlines of the service.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Transcription Typing
  • Coordination for the Multidisciplinary Teams
  • Updating Caseloads / Waiting Lists
  • Oversight of Panels
  • Managing and responding to requests received in the Business Support inbox.
  • Fielding telephone calls and messages via email.
The role will require an individual to have strong admin and digital experience to undertake a range of these functions to ensure that they are providing excellent support to those in the directorate and to our children, young people and their families.

The role is fast paced and you will be required to work with a variety of customers in and outside of Achieving for Children. The ideal candidate would need to have the following attributes.

  • Strong administrative skills such as minute taking, managing competing priorities, being organised and working well in a team.
