Business Support Officer, Temporary until 30 April 2026
We are currently have the opportunity to appoint two temporary Business Support Officers to join the Operations Team, Lifelong Learning and Skills Service, which will be funded from the Shared Prosperity Fund.
The post holders will work with the Information & Data Assistant and the wider Operations Team to quality assure and input data returns from external contract holders for short courses that they are delivering in the community.
Both posts will be full time on a fix term contract until 30 April 2026.
The main duties for the post holders will be as follows:
Data inputting
Operate existing and new technology-based office systems.
Raise official purchase orders for supplies and services
Maintain electronic filing systems
Complete generic administrative duties as required.
Key experience and skills are:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software packages and experience of learning new IT systems.
Ability to communicate and work as part of a team in a business office environment.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications Required
Level 2 qualification according to National Qualifications framework e.g. 5 GCSE grades A- C including maths and English. NVQ2, BTEC, First Diplomas and Certificates or equivalent qualifications or experience, or willing to work towards this level.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
