ABOUT THE ROLE


Stevenage is undergoing one of the largest regeneration programmes in the East of England, with over 1 billion being invested into new facilities, including a 43 million state-of-the-art leisure centre and major public realm improvements.




This role sits within our Leisure, Culture, Wellbeing, Parks and Events service area and plays a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly behind the scenes. As Business Support Officer, you'll provide proactive administrative, financial and customer service support across a diverse portfolio of projects, programmes, and events all aimed at improving the leisure, wellbeing and cultural experience of residents and visitors.




You'll work closely with managers across the business unit, partners and contractors to ensure systems, finances, data and communications are efficient, accurate and well-coordinated. From processing invoices and monitoring budgets to supporting community and civic events, your contribution will help keep Stevenage's services responsive, professional and resident-focused.




ABOUT YOU


The successful candidate will be a highly organised, proactive and customer-focused individual who thrives in a busy, multi-service environment.




You'll have strong administrative and financial skills, attention to detail, and confidence using IT systems and databases. You'll also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.




Experience of working in a customer service or local government setting is desirable, but more important is your ability to adapt, collaborate and take ownership of tasks that support wider service delivery.
