We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and processing of meat products, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role is essential in supporting our butchery operations, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our culinary offerings.
Duties
Assist the butcher in cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat products.
Ensure all meat is handled according to food safety regulations and best practices.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, including proper storage of raw materials.
Support in inventory management by tracking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Prepare meat for display, ensuring attractive presentation for customers.
Follow all health and safety guidelines while operating equipment and handling food products.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil orders efficiently and effectively.
Skills
Proficiency in butchery techniques and knowledge of various cuts of meat is advantageous.
Culinary background or experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
Understanding of food production processes and food safety standards.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
