We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Butcher, you will play a vital role in our food production process, ensuring high-quality meat products are prepared and presented to our customers. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut various types of meat, including beef, lamb, and poultry, according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are processed in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including tools and equipment. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding meat products and offering recommendations. Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques related to meat preparation.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a butcher or in a similar role within food production or culinary settings is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices. Ability to operate butchering tools and equipment safely and effectively. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy market environment. A passion for food preparation and an eagerness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and customers effectively.
