We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and safety, with a passion for culinary excellence. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality meat products, ensuring that all items meet our strict standards of freshness and quality. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut various types of meat, including beef, lamb, and poultry, according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butcher area, including tools and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil meat orders and ensure timely delivery for food production. Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide excellent customer service by answering queries regarding meat cuts and preparation methods. Assist in training junior staff members on proper butchering techniques and food safety practices.

Experience

Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within a kitchen or restaurant environment is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to meat handling. Familiarity with various culinary techniques related to food preparation and production. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
