Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our butchers shop.
We are a small but busy butchers based on a site with a cafe and farm shop and garden centre with walk in trade and daily catering orders.
We are looking for the right person to help us continue to grow our business.
This position would be 3 days a week to include one weekend day. This will total 25 hours a week. There will be more hours available if wanted over busy periods and during other staff holidays. Full clean driving licence required.
Comission incentives available.
Duties:
- Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer preferences
- Delivering and maintaining a professional relationship with customers. Providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure all meats are handled and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality
- Operate and maintain butchering equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the butchery area
- Some morning deliveries to catering jobs may be required
Requirements:
- Previous butchery and retail experience. Minimum one year.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong understanding of meat preparation techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
