We are a farm shop with a difference: we are local beef farmers who take great pride in the produce we sell and the customer service we provide. We have our own high quality butchery counter with our own team of talented butchers. Pride of place is our home reared beef from traditional native breeds. We carry a wide range of meat produce from the Three Counties, which we believe is home to some of the best that Britain has to offer. We even have meats from cattle reared on our own farmland in Knightwick in Worcestershire and just a short drive down the road at Gretton Fields.
Overview of the role:
- Responsible for deboning and butchering primal cuts, steaks etc and trimming/ dicing meats to meet the needs of the company's customer base, portioning steaks, joints according to requirements
- Work as a key part of the team to ensure products are compliant with company's specifications and done so in a food hygienic manner
- Maintaining exceptional high quality standards
- Demonstrate signs of skilled master butchery at all levels with preferably experience in how the food industry works
- Take a high level of individual responsibility regarding all health and safety regulations and systems, maintaining a high level of safety, hygiene, and housekeeping.
- Wear the correct clothing and maintain a clean working environment.
- Complete and record accurately all paperwork as required.
- Ensuring meat is always kept at the correct temperature.
- Able to run a butchery counter.
- Ensure the counter is well stocked with minimum wastage.
Person Specification:
- Extensive experience and recent work history with whole carcass butchery and preparation.
- Excellent communication skills working with all levels of the organisation.
- A reasonable level of fitness as the job is standing with high levels of manual handling.
- Can work individually and also be an enthusiastic team player.
- Understanding of butchery techniques.
You will be required to work 40 hours a week on a rota basis when the store is open.
The store is open 8am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30am until 4pm on Sundays.
