We are seeking a dedicated Butchery Assistant to join our team in delivering high-quality meat products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail, ensuring all products meet safety and quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the food production sector, particularly in butchery and meat processing.
Duties
Assist with the preparation and cutting of various meats according to specified standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, adhering to food safety regulations
Support the selection and packaging of meat products for wholesale purposes
Ensure all meat is stored correctly, monitoring temperatures and expiry dates
Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all tasks
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service
Skills
Knowledge of butchery techniques and food safety standards
Strong understanding of food preparation processes and hygiene practices
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads safely
Daily tasks include:
Making Sausages and Burgers, cutting Steaks, Mincing & Packing Meats. Also taking care of vegetable rotation, unpacking deliveries, packing the van for daily deliveries. Heaving lifting is an essential part of this position.

Pay: 12.75-13.00 per hour
