BUTCHERY & DELI ASSISTANT MANAGER

We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager to join our dedicated team within the Fresh Counters at Blair Drummond Smiddy. If you're passionate about fresh food, customer service, and team leadership, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Responsibilities:

As a key part of our butchery and delicatessen department, you'll support the day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, efficiency and exceptional customer service. Your role will involve:

Customer

Lead by example, role modelling the Smiddy's values at all times. Proactively engaging with customers and sharing your product knowledge. Display a can-do attitude when resolving customer issues with professionalism in line with the Smiddy's values. Identifying sales opportunities to increase customer spend.
Colleague

Motivating and supporting the team with a proactive, welcoming attitude. Fostering collaboration and strong relationships within the Fresh Counters and wider Smiddy. Assisting the manager in colleague management and development. Supporting and encouraging the creation and launch of new products. Coordinate and conduct staff training / meetings.
Commercial

Maximising profit, customer spend, and managing supplier relationships. Assisting with stock orders and production schedules. Implementing and evolving our product offering.
Operations

Leading the day-to-day department operations. Applying strong butchery skills to consistently deliver a fantastic customer experience, whilst maintaining legal compliance (HACCP, COSHH). Upholding the highest standards in hygiene and safety. Managing stock rotation, labelling, cleaning, and compliance paperwork. Ensuring opening, closing, and counter presentation procedures are followed to standard.

Pay: 32,000.00 per year
