The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Butchery Manager

to lead our butchery department. You'll be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, from meat preparation and displays to sales performance, staff leadership, and compliance with food safety regulations.

This is a hands-on role for someone with deep butchery expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional products and service.

Weekend availability is crucial

as part of meeting operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all butchery operations including cutting, processing, packaging, and merchandising Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and product quality Develop attractive product displays and promotions to boost sales Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and optimise profitability Source quality meats while maintaining cost efficiency Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing butchery team Manage staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of products to minimise waste Maintain and service butchery equipment Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally

About You

Proven experience in a senior butchery role, ideally with managerial responsibilities Expert knowledge of meat cuts, carcass breakdown, and portion control Strong leadership and team-building skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Highly organised with strong attention to detail Physically fit and able to work in chilled environments
