Butchery Supervisor

Location: Boston | Hours of work: 40 hours per week | Days of work: Any 5 from 6 days, Sunday to Friday between 7.00am to 10.00pm

About the role

The

Butchery Supervisor

is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Butchery department. The position requires a strong understanding of butchery techniques, the importance of food safety, and exceptional customer service. The Butchery Supervisor will be accountable for leading the team to ensure the efficient production of high-quality meat products.

Responsibilities will include:

Complete and produce customer orders to individual requirements Oversee the production of meat products in accordance with company standards and procedures. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene requirements are met and that products are stored correctly. Manage a team of butchers and other team members, including scheduling, training, mentoring and performance evaluations. Deputise in monitoring stock levels and place orders for supplies as needed. Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns promptly and courteously. Deputise for the Butchery Manager when required
All we ask is that you have:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a butchery or meat processing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation, and cooking techniques. Ability to demonstrate an excellent understanding of food safety, health & safety and hygiene standards. Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
