This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading FMCG organisation as a Buying and Purchasing Specialist. Working with world-leading brands, the organisation is leading the way in their industry and has a real passion for understanding what customers want when deciding what products to sell and where.

Reporting to the Trading Director, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be the conduit between trading teams, supplier management and category management teams ensuring that customer insight and supply management data is understood and used to deliver strong commercial negotiations while also putting in place process that ensure best practice is followed moving forward.

As a Category Buyer you\xe2\x80\x99ll:

• Regularly review and maintain the best possible purchase prices for your categories.

• Benchmark and compare prices using industry networking.

• Meet suppliers regularly to Negotiate optimal payment and delivery terms.

• Maintain regular feedback to your nominated suppliers in terms of their performance data and internal perception.

• Review, check and approve or reject any vendor requests for price increases.

• Work closely with the wider team to ensure effective communication around projects, costing and forecasting.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be:

• Experienced in strategic sourcing and supplier management.

• A strong negotiator.

• Organised, systematic and computer literate.

• A team player with the ability to also work independently.

• Able to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
