Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet the company's quality standards and budgetary requirements. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The Buyer will play a crucial part in optimising our supply chain processes and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
Responsibilities
Source and purchase materials, products, and services in accordance with company requirements.
Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
Manage procurement processes from requisition through to delivery
Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and provide support.
Create and send Purchase Orders
Utilise systems such as SimPro
Monitor market trends to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to the appropriate locations.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Collaborate with project managers and trade teams
Taking calls from tradesmen and suppliers.
Skills
Proven experience as a Buyer or a procurement professional, preferably in construction, maintenance, or trade sectors.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
Familiarity with Sim Pro would be beneficial
Excellent analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance and market conditions.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Strong organisational and record keeping skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
Familiarity with procurement software and MS Office.
Knowledge of materials, tools and trade supplies.
A proactive approach and excellent problem-solving skills
