Summary of Position Purpose:Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure the continuity of supply of parts/materials to support internal manufacturing and externally for the support of customer spares
'Cradle to Grave' supplier responsibility via commodity-based procurement
Primary Responsibilities:Schedule incoming materials according to the forecasted demand
Generate and issue purchase orders on nominated suppliers within your commodity
Provide suppliers with specification for material and services ordered
Inform suppliers of any non-conformances for goods received, as advised by QC/Technical and where necessary negotiating costs
Expedite orders and reporting back to the business delays that may impact production
Collating and managing samples
Updating information on ERP/MRP
Liaising with the relevant departments throughout the day to address and resolve any supply issues
Querying price discrepancies with the supplier and report findings to the respective department for action, obtaining credit notes as necessary
Manage cost saving projects as provided by the Strategic Sourcing team
Constant maintenance of the Demand Planning system
Supporting all internal customers
Organise buffer stock arrangements with strategic suppliers
Review and hedge raw materials as necessary
Manage continuous improvement for your given commodity base
