Job Description
A fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join a constantly growing, global manufacturing company, who are world leaders in advanced materials science and engineering of ceramics, carbon and composites based in Stourport-on-Severn with a salary up to \xc2\xa340,000. This Buyer position offers growth and progression opportunities in the future. Candidates will have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment as a buyer or senior buyer.
Role responsibilities of the Buyer:
- Being responsible for a portfolio of direct and indirect spend ranging from low risk/high value to high risk/low value items.
- Working with suppliers and influence stakeholders to drive delivery of procurement objectives.
- Negotiating with suppliers regarding costs.
- Delivering KPI\'s relating to cost, cash, quality, service and continuity of supply for the portfolio.
- Understanding market and analyse trends to be able to make informed buying decisions for the business.
- Conducting market tenders and managing the evaluation across a cross-functional team to determine supplier selection.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
- Strong IT and MS Office skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrable negotiation skills.
- Previous experience in using ERP/MRP systems.
