Industrial GRP is one of the UK's largest GRP Enclosure Manufacturers. Located in Ammanford, we service a diverse set of customers throughout the UK and overseas.

Job Overview


The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for the company's operations. This role involves sourcing vendors, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods. The Buyer plays a critical part in maintaining inventory levels, supporting production schedules, and optimising cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities (not exhaustive):



Source and evaluate potential suppliers for quality, cost, and reliability. Issue and manage purchase orders according to company procedures and budgets. Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies to meet production and operational needs. Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Resolve issues related to shortages, late deliveries, or defective products, including managing ISO 9001 company purchasing procedure. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Collaborate with departments such as production, logistics, and finance to understand purchasing needs. Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best terms, including pricing, delivery, and payment schedules. Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and industry best practices. Manage the buying process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications, policies and regulations. Supplier Management including appraisals, questionnaires, accreditations and insurances. Analyze procurement data and generate reports for senior management. Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet production and project timelines. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory. Ensure ethical procurement practices and compliance with legal and environmental regulations.

Requirements



Proven experience (5+ years) in buying, procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a managerial role. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
