Role Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the buyer/scheduler will be responsible for mrp scheduling, buying and maintain the supplier interface for specific commodities.
The buyer will ensure that business secures the best quality, pricing, payment terms and contracts for products and services it purchases.
Qualifications Required/Essential Skills:
HND or above preferred but will consider candidates with relevant purchase experience.
IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications.
Experience of ERP/MRP systems would be useful.
Experience dealing with electronic parts would be an advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
Managing the day to day ordering, ensuring goods arrive on time to meet the mrp demand.
o Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
o Interface with Operations and Projects on new part introduction.
o Ensure forward project costings are maintained to ensure the project margins are maintained.
o Support with the generation of supplier KPIs when required.
o An integral Team member who will work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvement.
o Adhere to nay health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to enure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
o Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships internal and external.
o Conduct research for new components and suppliers where needed.
o Resolve any supplier issues to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issue.
