Buyer
Location: Warwick
Shift: Days \xe2\x80\x93 39-hours per week
Salary: Circa \xc2\xa326,000 - \xc2\xa328,000 but open to negotiation.

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer for a manufacturer of automotive parts, based in Warwick. They work through from design to production stage and work with many of the large OEM\xe2\x80\x99s. As a Buyer your role will be to provide support to the supply chain management function, working with all business areas including engineering, sales, operations, quality and overseas where necessary.

This would be the ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to learn and progress within their career. This role would be suitable for a Buyer in the early stages of their career and is looking to step up and progress their career as a Buyer.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Buyer:

  • Create internal RFQ (Request for Quotation) packs to initiate the sourcing process.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and costings for materials and services required.
  • Develop and maintain a supplier database with up-to-date information and contacts.
  • Obtain transport costings from relevant logistics partners to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) for tooling and parts, both indirect and direct materials.
  • Monitor and track delivery schedules to ensure on-time receipt of materials.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing along with terms and conditions,
  • To source, select and purchase quality automotive products, materials, and services,
  • Manage purchase requests and orders,
  • Analysing market trends and advising the business on risks and opportunities,
  • Monitor and review supplier performance in line with the quality function,
  • Obtain supplier qualifications and accreditations, maintain approved supplier list and support audits,
The ideal Buyer:
  • Experience working as a Buyer / Junior Buyer or similar, ideally within an Automotive or Manufacturing environment,
  • An understanding and appreciation of manufacturing processes would be beneficial,
  • You must have the ability to review and understand technical requirements such as engineering drawings, product specifications and contract requirements,
  • Strong IT skills,
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other members of staff and external stakeholders,
  • Proven experience with problem solving and negotiation skills,
  • Ability to be self-motivated and well organised.
