The opportunity:

Would you like to work for a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of helicopters? We are looking for a Buyer, who will work within the Helicopter division of Leonardo. A great opportunity for the right person to drive excellence in the procurement of high technology products in a world leading company.

Reporting to the Geographical Purchasing Manager, you will be a key member of the Category Management team, contributing to purchasing activities and executing the Procure-to-Pay within a certain Geography.

This role is a mixture of home based and onsite working and there will be the potential for international travel to meet suppliers.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do as a Buyer:

  • Perform transactional activities related to purchasing (PR processing, ordering, invoicing management) for all the purchase requirements along the full part lifecycle
  • Interact with suppliers for issues related to ordering/ transactional activities, promptly requesting the intervention of Sub-Category teams in case of commercial/ contractual issues
  • Process all the Purchase Requisitions timely and effectively, promptly requesting the support of Commodity Specialists when is needed to perform sourcing & contracting;
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for all the requests received
  • Address transactional issues associated to PO execution and acknowledgment (including invoicing management)
  • Interact with internal Leonardo departments for all the matters related to PR processing and PO management;
  • Contribute to achieve the throughput/ operational performance KPIs of the purchasing unit, while providing a high level of service to internal client functions;
  • Verify the correctness/ accuracy of all the information reported in the PRs and Pos;
  • Perform the entire low-value spot buy, including RFx, negotiation and supplier selection, in alignment with the Purchasing Coordinator.
What we need from you:
  • Qualifications: Proven ability in an equal procurement or commercial role
  • Knowledge of tools and systems to support purchasing activities
  • Understanding of the operational functioning of ERP systems used for the correct management and sharing of data, flows and documents useful for the correct functioning of the Supply Chain
  • Strong communication skills i.e. to apply effective approaches to supplier management
  • Ability to understand & shape Procurement & Supply Chain activities to transform them into business impact
  • Ability to apply main national agreement, contract types and structures alongside applicable legislation, practices, procedures and negotiation strategies in order to ensure best governance setting for the company
  • Knowledge and application of Account management planning and implementation, methodologies, capabilities, and tools
