We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Buying Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing administrative functions related to material purchasing and plant hire for the business. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills and experience in administrative tasks.
Duties
Manage and maintain databases to ensure accuracy and real-time availability of information.
Coordinate material orders and plant hires , including scheduling and tracking deliveries and liaising with suppliers.
Support supply chain processes by processing purchase orders and assisting with procurement activities.
Facilitate negotiation with suppliers to optimise costs and service levels.
Requirements
Strong organisational and administrative skills, including document management, record keeping, and attention to detail.
Procurement and supply chain knowledge, including experience in sourcing materials, supplier negotiations, and inventory control.
Communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to quickly learn procurement systems.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing tasks and addressing procurement challenges.
Familiarity with the civil engineering or construction industry is advantageous, though not required.
