Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will support the purchasing process by coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in supply chain management within a dynamic organisation. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills and a keen eye for logistics.

Responsibilities



Assist in the procurement of goods and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms, prices, and delivery schedules. Coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and products. Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions and supplier information within relevant systems. Support the optimisation of supply chain processes by analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvement. Work closely with merchandising teams/directors to align procurement activities with sales forecasts and inventory needs. Monitor supplier performance and assist in resolving any issues related to quality or delivery.

Experience



Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and merchandising principles. Demonstrated negotiation skills to secure advantageous purchasing terms. Experience in procurement or purchasing roles within a retail or manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiarity with procurement software and tools used for inventory management and order processing. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with suppliers and internal teams. Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 38 per week
