Job Summary
As a Designer, you will play a pivotal role in our design department, producing precise and highly detailed CAD designs and rendered images. You will also work closely with our client base -- including interior designers -- to interpret briefs, refine designs, and ensure design intent is accurately translated into comprehensive build packs, assembly instructions, and installation guides for seamless project completion. In addition, you will contribute to developing and refining our design library and streamlining our design processes.
Key Responsibilities
Design Projects: Take ownership of the design process for bespoke fitted furniture projects.
Software Expertise: Produce quality, accurate CAD designs that meet client specifications and manufacturing requirements. Also create rendered images to inspire our customer base.
Build Packs & Install Instructions: Generate detailed build packs with comprehensive assembly instructions and installation guides to assist manufacturing and installation teams.
Catalogue Development: Work on the continual development and refinement of our in-house product catalogue, ensuring all available furniture components and files are updated and accurate.
Quality Control: Perform thorough design checks to ensure accuracy in measurements, clearances, and the correct positioning of components. Identify and resolve any design issues prior to production.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, production and installation teams to deliver designs which align with customer expectations and project timelines.
Customer engagement: Liaise and work with our customers to ensure the project we deliver matches and exceeds their expectations.
Produce M&E drawings where required, accounting for site services and constraints.
Skills & Experience
Experience with Alpha Cam / Cabinet Vision / SketchUp is a plus, but not essential.
Minimum of 3 years of CAD design experience, ideally within the bespoke fitted furniture industry.
Proven track record in designing for media walls, wardrobes, kitchens and other bespoke fitted furniture solutions.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ensure designs are accurate and production ready.
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work closely with all stakeholders, including customers, sales and production.
Excellent understanding of manufacturing and installation process.
