The CAD Technician will fulfil a key part of a team of professionals from different disciplines working on the production of drawings related to Petroleum, Oils, & Lubricants (POL) facilities. The CAD Technician will be responsible for developing piping layouts, producing concept designs and as built drawings.

Prepare comprehensive planning drawing packs to support new project proposals and approvals
Produce detailed 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for piping systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications.
Develop concept designs through to fully detailed installation layouts, in collaboration with internal and external design teams
Draft P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) using AutoCAD
Create accurate as-built drawings for POL (Petroleum, Oils & Lubricants) facilities following site completion
Conduct one-off site and building surveys to capture essential data for design and documentation
Liaise with in-house site teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and resolve design-related queries
Engage with clients during pre- and post-tender stages, including attending meetings on-site and at client offices
Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain standardised design details for recurring project requirements
Participate in weekly team meetings to review progress, share updates, and align on project priorities
Adhere to company standard operating procedures and quality management systems in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
Work flexibly across office-based tasks and site visits, depending on project need
About you:
Sound understanding of construction and engineering design principles; experience in designing POL (Petroleum, Oils & Lubricants) facilities is highly beneficial.
Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D, with the ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, including hand-drawn site plans when required.
Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools; working knowledge of Revit is desirable.
Previous experience in a CAD Technician role, ideally within engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, sketches, and design briefs to create detailed CAD models.
Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and construction techniques relevant to the role.
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in design and drafting practices.
Full clean driving license is essential due to the travel associated with this role.
