Please note this job requires you to travel to our Office in Sleaford, Lincolnshire and is not a Hybrid role.

We are looking for a CAD Technician/Design Engineer to add to our growing team. You will be a member of a strong team working towards a goal of producing bespoke designs for individual customer requirements.

You will play a key role in ensuring that designs and BoMs are issued promptly and in such a way that project installations go smoothly. You will be part of a team focused on design improvements and innovation and you will bring experience in quality, efficiency and design solutions. You will also be expected to attend certain installation sites to ensure installation time frames, report on progress and when needed provide initial design / quote support.

CAD Technician/Design Engineer Responsibilities:

To design bespoke fire suppression systems - using both 2D and 3D CAD modelling software. Put together bill of materials for easy ordering process. Assist in the purchasing of required parts in line with delivery schedule. Assist relevant project managers where required - including status reporting of current projects. Provide mechanical support and technical knowledge to any call out requirements. Produce detailed component / assembly drawings.
Relevant technical training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Ideally will have relevant industrial experience within an engineering environment incorporating knowledge of some of the following:

Up-to-date design expertise in system hydraulic networks inc pumps, piece part / sub assembly / complete fabrication. Safety, quality and compliance standards CAD based systems - Autodesk Inventor or willingness to convert from another 3D Model Software including competent use of Autocad LT 2D drafting.

Desirable:

Basic electrical schematics inclusive of network diagrams and basic electrical / mechanical P & IDs.
