Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills and a basic understanding of food safety practices, contributing to the smooth operation of our cafe.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and drink items in accordance with health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food and beverages. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Support the team in managing inventory levels, ensuring that supplies are adequately stocked. Help with basic maths tasks related to cash handling and order processing. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.

Requirements

Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock levels. Understanding of food safety principles and practices. Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well within a team and contribute positively to the cafe atmosphere. A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to engage with customers effectively.
You will be required to work at botjh of our sites, one in Cheshunt and one in Hoddesdon so if you drive this will be a benefit.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
