Job Overview

We are looking for a team member to join us, to work at multiple locations during the week. We are looking for someone who can work 3 days to help us at The Hospital Cafe in Shrewsbury and 2 days at other sites including The Quarry Cafe in Shrewsbury. We are looking for someone who is comfortable to do a mixture of being back of house in the kitchen preparing and cooking food and being front of house and serving customers.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to established recipes and portion sizes. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations to maintain a hygienic environment. Serve customers with a friendly and helpful attitude, taking orders and answering queries. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for processing payments. Support the team in managing time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques and knowledgeable about food safety practices. Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with the cafe menu and standards. Strong basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders. Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently in a bustling cafe environment. A helpful attitude towards customers and colleagues, fostering a positive atmosphere. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
