Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant and all rounder to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for food and customer service. The successful candidate will be trained in front of house duties as well as in the kitchen. Full training will be given.

Duties

Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces, kitchen, and storage areas. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns. Help manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Utilise basic maths skills to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently. Demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic maths skills are required for handling transactions and inventory management. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team environment. Excellent time management skills to thrive in a busy cafe setting. A positive attitude and willingness to help colleagues and customers alike.
