Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service while enjoying their food and beverages. This position requires a passion for food and drink, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for a fun and reliable all-rounder who can bring energy and passion to our team. The ideal candidate will be confident working both front of house and in the kitchen -- preparing drinks, making light meals, and ensuring every customer leaves happy.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers with attention to quality and presentation. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Assist in food preparation tasks, ensuring all items are fresh and ready for service. Operate coffee machines and other equipment, providing barista services when required. Take customer orders accurately and handle transactions with basic math skills. Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods. Keep the cafe area clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout the day. Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Previous barista experience is highly desirable, along with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques. Proficiency in serving food and beverages with excellent customer service skills. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently in a busy environment. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the cafe setting. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 7.55-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
