Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service at all times. Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks according to health and safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety standards. Manage cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change. Restock supplies as needed to ensure the cafe is well-equipped during operating hours. Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions efficiently. Experience in serving customers with friendliness and professionalism. Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service. Good organisational skills to keep the workspace clean and well-stocked. Strong communication skills with an approachable manner suitable for engaging with diverse customers.
