Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organised cafe and play environment This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food safety, barista techniques, and customer service within a vibrant play cafe setting. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about providing a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately and processing payments Prepare a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and other hot drinks, adhering to quality standards Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all areas of the cafe Keep the cafe clean and tidy, including clearing tables, cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies Keep the play areas clean and tidy, including a reset after each play session Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service Support team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

Requirements

Previous barista experience or serving experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during peak hours Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner Ability to work well within a team and independently when required Flexibility to work shifts including weekends if necessary; punctuality is essential

Pay: 8,320.00-10,160.00 per year
