Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Temporary Cafe Chef to join our team at New Docklands Steam Baths - a unique steam and sauna spa experience with an in-house cafe. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, wellness-focused environment where great food is a key part of the guest experience.About the Role:As our Cafe Chef, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving a simple, fresh, and delicious menu including breakfasts, sandwiches, mains, and desserts. We're looking for someone who thrives under pressure and can manage high-volume service during peak times.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook cafe-style dishes efficiently and to a high standard
Manage food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and light mealsEnsure timely delivery of orders in a fast-paced kitchen
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all timesMonitor and manage stock levels, including placing orders when necessary
Support the seasonal refresh of the menu with flexibility and creativityWork collaboratively with the team to ensure a smooth kitchen operationRequirements:
Proven experience in a similar cafe or kitchen environmentAbility to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
Strong organisational and time-management skillsUnderstanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
A flexible and adaptable attitude, especially when it comes to seasonal menu changesAdditional Info:Temporary position (with potential for ongoing work)
