Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Cook/All Rounder to join our vibrant team.

Initially you will be working Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 9.00am - 2.30pm.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and the preparation, plating and serving of all menu items. Previous cooking experience is essential. This position requires strong time management skills and a basic understanding of quality food preparation to assist with daily tasks effectively.

You will be also required to assist with all other kitchen/cafe duties as required.

Job Type:

Permanent contract, part-time but

must have availability to work every Saturday but not Sundays or Bank Holidays currently.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with menu selections and provide exceptional service to enhance their cafe experience. Prepare all menu items and plate up and serve. Prepare food items according to established recipes and food safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment. Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during food preparation and serving. Handle cash transactions accurately, including taking payments and giving change. Help prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks Support the team in restocking supplies and managing inventory levels. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient cafe operations during peak hours. Assist with all other kitchen/cafe duties as required.

Qualifications

Previous cooking experience is essential. Proven time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and inventory management. A genuine desire to help customers and provide a welcoming atmosphere. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential; previous experience in food preparation is mandatory, barista experience is preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends as required.

Pay: 12.25-13.50 per hour
