Role Overview
The Cafe Supervisor plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the Luna Hut Sauna Cafe, supporting the Cafe Manager in ensuring smooth operations, a welcoming customer experience, and high service standards.
As the second-in-command, you'll act as the Duty Manager in the absence of the Cafe Manager. This includes responsibilities such as cashing up, managing staff rotas, and overseeing service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring leadership skills, a hands-on attitude, and a passion for both hospitality and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Support & Shift Leadership
Support the Cafe Manager in day-to-day operations.
Lead service during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery.
Open and close the cafe when required, including cashing up and end-of-day procedures.
Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
2. Staff Supervision & Team Support
Supervise front-of-house staff during shifts, including baristas and sauna garden attendants.
Support with onboarding and training of new team members.
Maintain a positive and supportive team atmosphere during service.
Help manage shift schedules and break rotations.
3. Customer Service & Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong rapport with regulars.
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
Foster a warm, welcoming, and calm cafe environment.
4. Administration & Compliance
Assist with stock monitoring and restocking as needed.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene protocols are followed.
Participate in regular health and safety and team meetings.
Support the manager in reporting shift notes and operational feedback.
Skills & Experience Required
At least 1 year of experience in a cafe or hospitality supervisor/shift lead role.
Confidence in leading a team and taking initiative.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to cash up, open/close the venue, and troubleshoot operational issues.
Passion for great coffee, good food, and a wellness-focused lifestyle.
Basic knowledge of stock rotation, food hygiene, and barista skills.
Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Calm under pressure and solutions-oriented.
Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
