Blair Drummond Smiddy is a family-run farm shop based in Blair Drummond, near Stirling. Our award-winning offering revolves around delicious, fresh food, all served up by our cafe and in-house butcher, deli and grocery teams.

The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cafe Supervisor to join our expanding business. As part of the hospitality team, the Cafe Supervisor is responsible for the smooth day to day running and operation of the cafe. You will support all elements of the Smiddy Cafe and Takeaway, including first class customer service, a motivated front of house team, sales analysis and product development. You will help establish and grow performance across the Smiddy Cafe by putting the customer, and their needs, first. Reporting to the Cafe Manager, you will deputise in their absence, to ensure all of the operational needs are met. You will be integral in helping to develop staff, with input in planning and implementing future strategy in the cafe to ensure we are realising our potential.

Customer Service
Lead by example, role modelling our values at all times.
Proactively engaging with customers and sharing your product knowledge.
Display a can-do attitude when resolving customer issues with professionalism in line with the our values.
Identifying sales opportunities to increase customer spend.
Colleague Engagement
Motivating and supporting the team with a proactive, welcoming attitude.
Fostering collaboration and strong relationships within the cafe, and the wider Smiddy.
Assisting the manager in colleague management and development.
Supporting and encouraging the creation and launch of new products and services.
Coordinate and conduct staff training / meetings.
Commercial Acumen
Maximising profit, customer spend, and managing supplier relationships.
Assisting with stock orders and production schedules.
Implementing and evolving our product offering.
Operational Improvement
Leading the day-to-day department operations.
Applying key hospitality skills to consistently deliver a fantastic customer experience, whilst maintaining legal compliance (HACCP, COSHH).
Upholding the highest standards in hygiene and safety.
Managing stock rotation, labelling, cleaning, and compliance paperwork.
Ensuring opening, closing, and counter presentation procedures are followed to standard.

Pay: 27,000.00 per year
