Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with food preparation and making drinks etc maintaining the cleanliness of the cafe. This position requires a passion for food and excellent customer service skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment. Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing customer inquiries. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper food handling practices. Use basic maths skills to accurately process transactions and handle cash. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment and support one another in daily tasks.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment is essential. Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing payments. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy setting. A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to engage with customers and team members alike. A willingness to help others and contribute positively to the team dynamic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 11.44-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
