Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in catering, food preparation, and hospitality within a welcoming environment. The Cafe Assistant will be responsible for creating a warm atmosphere, assisting with food and beverage service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Also working within our soft play environment you will maintain the soft play and role play area by keeping it clean and tidy

Responsibilities

Serve customers efficiently and courteously, providing excellent hospitality at all times Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, teas, and light snacks Assist with food preparation tasks in accordance with food safety standards Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces Restock supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the POS system Support catering functions as required, including setting up event spaces or buffets Uphold health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers

Experience

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided Knowledge of food safety procedures is preferred but not mandatory Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour are essential for delivering outstanding customer service Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 10.00-12.50 per hour
